Frank Metcalf of Webster, Texas, died last Friday at his residence following a brief illness. He was 72 years old.

Services were Sunday afternoon in the Chapel of the Gallant Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Tom Porter officiating. Burial was in the Riverview Memorial Gardens.

A native of Coffee County, he was the son of the late Willard Enos and Mary Lona Metcalf. He was a retired carpenter and a member of the Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Flossie Fears Metcalf; three daughters, Mrs. Betty Bethea and Mrs. Edith Porter, both of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Nellie Scandlin of Pasadena, Texas; seven sons, Hoover Metcalf of Moore County, W. R. Metcalf of Lincoln County, Clayton Metcalf of League City, Texas, Frank Metcalf, Jr. of Port Bolivar, Texas, Hulon Metcalf, Fred Ray Metcalf, and Gary Metcalf, all of Houston, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Ollie Chism of Hazel Green, Mrs. Goldie Rhoar of Greenville, Tennessee, and Mrs. Lottie Edde of Lewisburg; two brothers, Jim Ed Metcalf of Shelbyville, and Willard Metcalf of Fayetteville; 36 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren.
