PASCAGOULA -- Eley Theodore Bishop, 76, died Wednesday, June 17, 1998, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Bishop was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Pascagoula and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired from Campbell Piping Company in Mobile in 1986 and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gautier. He was a member of the Elks Lodge in Pascagoula, the Gulf Coast Gem and Mineral Society, and the American Legion in Pascagoula.
He was preceded in death by his son, Eley Theodore Bishop Jr.; and a daughter, Carol Ann Bishop.
Survivors include his wife, Edna Pittman Bishop; his mother, Lela Bishop, both of Pascagoula; two sons, Jimmy Bishop of the Hurley Community, and Jerry Bishop of Escatawpa; two daughters, Virginia Ann Baham of Folsom, La., and Sarah Luke of Gautier; two brothers, J.T. Bishop of Mobile and Charles Bishop of Pascagoula; seven grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. A service will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with burial Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
