4/22/1917 - Born in Dresden (Decatur Co.), Kansas
10/1917 - Traveled by train with his mother and brother, Raymond, to Little Lost, Idaho where his father had purchased a farm.
9/1923 - Traveled by hay wagon with his parents and brother to Blackfoot, Idaho to start school.
6/1924 - Father returned to Incom, Idaho to farm.
12/1926 - Father injured his hand so the family moved to warmer climate in Chico, California.
1927 - Moved to Live Oak with his parents and brothers, Raymond, and William (Bill).
Attended school at Nuestro, Encinal and Sutter City High School.
November 3, 1940 - Married Majorie (Schell) Armstrong
1940 - Joined the National Guard.
6/1943 to 7/1945 World War II, North and South Pacific with the U.S. Army 184th, 7th Infantry Division. Involved in retaking the island of Attu in the Aleutian Island chain; the invasion of Island of Kwajalian, an island in the Marshall Island chain, and the invasion of Leyte Island in the Philippines. Shortly after the battle of Leyte he came down with Dengue Fever in the Philippines and was sent, via New Guinea to Letterman Hospital in San Francisco, California to recover. For their actions at Attu, Kwajalian and Leyte the 7th Infantry Division received a Presidential Unit Citation. A book was written about the actions of the 7th Infantry Division during the Second World War and copy which is in the possession of Harold Eugene Armstrong Jr.
1/1946 - Began electrical career working for Otto Kuderer in Live Oak, California.
7/1953 - He and his family moved to Fair Oaks, California.
1/1979 - Retired from the electrical business.
10/30/1990 - Died from a sudden Aortic Aneurysm rupture due to generalized Arterioscleroses (DC). California Certificate of Death #39034 - Sacramento County.
11/2/1990 - Buried at the Live Oak Cemetery, 3545 Pennington Road, Live Oak, California, Section 1, Lot 100, Space G.

My dad loved fly fishing, hunting, wood working, farming, yard work and various crafts such as, stained glass, rug weaving, carving, and in his later years became quite interested in keeping track of his and mom's investments on an Apple lle computer. In Fair Oaks. Oct. 30, 1990. A Fair Oaks resident 37 years. Loving husband of Marjorie Armstrong of Fair Oaks. Beloved father of Harold E. Armstrong Jr. "Hal" of Fair Oaks, Charyl Garman of Tempe, AZ. and Karen Callahan of Folsom. Grandfather of Christina Armstrong, Lainie & Sean Michael Callahan, Stephanie & Julie Garman. Father- in-law of Terri Armstrong of Fair Oaks, Dale Garman of Arizona & Sean Callahan of Folsom. Brother of Raymond Armstrong of Live Oak, and William Armstrong (deceased). Friends may attend memorial services Sunday Nov. 4, at 2 p.m. at the Fair Oaks Presbyterian Church, 11427 Fair Oaks Blvd. Private interment: Live Oak Cemetery.
