Services were held at the Boekerton Baptist church Monday morning, January 19, for Lewis Baker, 62, of Route 3, Portageville (near Wardell) who died last Saturday, January 17. The Rev. Fred Boren conducted the service and burial was in Dry Bayou cemetery with Jimmy Osburn Funeral Home service.
Mr. Baker was born March 7, 1870, in New Madrid county.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Fannie Baker, several step-children and step-grandchildren; also four brothers, Eddie, Jim, Ben and Johnny Baker and two sisters, Miss Mattie Baker and Mrs. Emma Oliver.

NOTE: Missouri Death Cert. and Obit states Mr. Baker was interred in Dry Bayou Cemetery, Hayti, Mo. but headstone for Mr. and Mrs. Baker were found in Maple Cemetery, Caruthersville.
