Bud was born September 18, 1927 at Buffalo, ND to Henry and Henrietta Beilke. He grew up on the family farm and attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Buffalo High School in 1945. He attended Wahpeton State College of Science and NDSU before returning to Buffalo, where he farmed with his father.
He married Alta Wilcox of Ayr, ND at Leonard, ND on September 2, 1948. In 1952, they moved to their farm north of Buffalo. For 42 years, they operated a dairy and diversified farming operation. In 1994 they sold the dairy cattle and semi-retired. They remained on the farm until moving to Fargo in 2008.
Bud served as president of the Buffalo Wildlife Club for 49 years, was president of the Buffalo school board for 18 years, and served on the Mid-America Dairy board for 12 years. He was also active in numerous other community and church events and organizations. Bud took a great interest in the activities of his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Alta, Fargo; daughter, Nadine (Ron) Roach, Fargo; son, Scott (Deb), Valley City, ND; four grandchildren, Neal (Jennifer) Roach, Kevin (Nicole – fiancé) Roach, Tim Roach, Jason Beilke; two great grandchildren, Paige and Austin Roach; three siblings, LaVerne Wilcox and Wesley Beilke, both Buffalo, and MarJean Peterson, Phoenix, AZ and sisters-in-law, Clare Beilke and Carol Beilke, both Buffalo.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, son, Bruce, and brothers, Clarence and Rodney.
Visitation: Wednesday from 5 to 7 in West Funeral Chapel, West Fargo, ND, with a prayer service at 7.
Funeral: Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 10:30 in the Buffalo Lutheran Church.
Burial: Buffalo Cemetery.
