Albert was son of Isaac Williams and Margaret Beck. In 1898, he joined Company I, 1st Illinois Cavalry during the Spanish-American War.

Albert married Catherine Irene Steele in Portland, Oregon.

"ALBERT WILLIAMS, WAR VET, PASSES

Albert G. Williams, 67, a Spanish war veteran, died this morning at his home on Mill street following a short illness.

He was born Dec 14, 1869 near Galesburg, Ill., and came to Roseburg in 1927.

He leaves a wife, who resides in Roseburg and a brother and sister in Illinois.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Roseburg Undertaking company parlors. Rev. Perry Smith officiating. Interment will be in the veterans cemetery."
