Robert, a graduate of Paul Lawrence Dunbar High School, was a U.S. Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gwendolyn, and brother, Billy Shipp.
Survivors: Children, Greg Austin, Robin Austin, Kevin Austin and Myron Bridges; mother, Dora June Austin; sister, Bobbie Lawton; several grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
