Mrs. Whitley is survived by her husband, John Robert Whitley; son, John A. Whitley of West Point; 3. daughters, Mrs. Irene Bishop of Lanett, Mrs. Doris Goodwin of Auburn, and Mrs. Kathryn Thomas of Fairfax; 1 brother, Malcum Mitchell of Roanoke; 2 sisters, Mrs. C. A. Spradlin of Bowdon and Miss Alpha Mitchell of Franklin; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Whitley were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the Handley Ave. Baptist Church by Rev. Amos Hughes, Rev. Floyd Carmack, and Rev. Monroe Driver. Burial was in Cedarwood Cemetery, Quattlebaums Brown Service Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Serving as pallbearers were Jesse Calhoun, Lindsey Mitchell, Richard Goodwin, Earl Mitchell, Jack Cole, and Frank Roberts.
