Miss Julia Earline Awbrey, 58 North Main Street, Roanoke, passed away in a local hospital about eleven o'clock Wednesday morning, Oct. 16, at the age of 62. While she had been in ill health for several months, she had been hospitalized less than a week.
Daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred M. Awbrey, she was a member of the First Methodist Church. Until her recent illness she had been employed for many years in the law office of E. Burns Parker.
She is survived by one brother, Fred Awbrey of Roanoke, and two sisters, Mrs. T. C. Bingham of Roanoke and Mrs. Marion Bingham of Montgomery.
Funeral services for Miss Awbrey were conducted Friday afternoon at two o'clock from the chapel of Quattlebaum's Funeral Home. The Rev. Henry Gary officiated, assisted by Dr. Charles Ferrell. Interment was in Cedarwood Cemetery. Quattlebaums Funeral Home was in charge of funeral arrangements.
