Phoebe "Eunice" Clossett, 101, a resident of the Forest Grove community died Sunday evening, June 21, 2009 at her home.

Graveside services will be held at noon on June 30, 2009 at the Willamette National Cemetery; 11800 SE Mt Scott Blvd in Portland.

Eunice was born on November 1, 1907 in Seattle. WA. She was one of three children born to Thomas and Estelle (Bauer) Robinson. She followed her father's career in the textile industry and they had lived in Seattle, Portland and even into Canada. They settled in Seattle were she attended Olympia High School and was a graduate from the Class of 1924. During the depression she worked for several law firms throughout the Portland metro area as a secretary.

She was united in marriage to Paul J Clossett in 1940 in Portland, OR. Following their marriage they lived in the Laurelhurst area of Portland. Paul died in 1972. Eunice continued to live in her own home until 2000 when she moved to Forest Grove to be closer to her family.

Eunice had legal business as a secretary all of her adult life. She retired at the age of 78. She was first and foremost a doting aunt to her nieces and nephews; she was also the family caregiver taking in her mother, sister and brother when they became infirm. She was a loving woman who enjoyed raising roses, cats and gardening. She was an accomplished piano player and dancer.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her siblings a niece; Rachael Monge and a dear friend (name friend here)

She is survived by three nieces and nephews and their spouses; Barbara and David Colby of Forest Grove, OR, Tom Robinson of Seaside, OR, Harry and DeArcy Robinson of Texas, 11 grand nieces and nephews and 17 great grand nieces and nephews.
