The son of Walter Thomas Bowden & Amanda Caroline Sprayberry South, he married Nancy Cornelia "Nannie" Clay on November 5, 1895 in DeKalb County, Georgia and they had five children together: Eula May (b-1897, m-Street), Nellie C. (b-1900), William Kingsley (b-1901), Lida Grace (b-1907, m-Cook) and Hall Fincher (b-1909). He worked most of his life as a cabinetmaker in a furniture factory and a farmer.

CHARNER BOWDEN

Charner Bowden, 72, of 853 Woodland avenue, S.E., died yesterday at a private hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Moreland Avenue Baptist church, with the Rev. T.T. Davis officiating, and burial will be at Sylvester cemetery under the direction of A.S. Turner & Son. Mr. Bowden is survived by two daughters, Mrs. J.G. Street and Mrs. C.G. Cook; two sons, W.J. Bowden and H.F. Bowden; and five grandchildren, all of Atlanta.
