Thurman never married ,he died in the V.A. Hospital in Roseburg. His brother Lawrence was the only one at his funeral.
John Thurman spent years in the State Hospital due to mental shock from his military service. He was a patient in 1920 and was still there in 1930.He died in a Veterans hospital. This is truly sad that he spend his life in and out of state hospitals.
They call it Post Traumatic Stress Disorder now I believe or by some accounts it was worse.
