Rev. Ted Lyman Dies At Fort Miley Hospital
Rev. Ted W. Lyman, 43, pastor of the Garfield Park Christian church, died last night at Fort Miley hospital in San Francisco. He had been ill with cancer for a number of years.

Since coming to Santa Cruz in 1948 Lyman had been in poor health, but carried on an active program for his church.

In October he attended the International Convention of Christian churches in Oklahoma where his plans were approved for a memorial church in Garfield Park circle. His program "Poems and Hymns" was broadcast over KSCO every Monday at 8:15 a.m.

Lyman first served as pastor of the Garfield church from 1940-42, coming here from Modesto. Following this term he was named pastor of the Turlock Christian church where he remained until July, 1948.

He was a veteran of World War I and a native of Yreka.

Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Iantha Lyman, a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd Smith, and the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Erma Taylor, Modesto; Mrs. Alice Williamson, Denver; Elton Lyman, Sacramento, and Fred Lyman, Stockton.

Rev. Ed Cunningham of the First Congregational church conducted a special memorial service for Lyman this morning on KSCO in place of the "Poems and Hymns" program. Funeral arrangements are pending at Wessendorf mortuary.
