"Florid, April 14, 1927 - Eli Allen, who has been so sick for sometime, died at his home in Cedar Point Tuesday evening, April 5th, and was buried from the Florid church Thursday afternoon. He was 80 years old. He leaves his faithful daughter Cora, and a son Henry of Nebraska, two grandchildren to mourn his loss. Rev. R. H. Barstead, an old-time friend, of Ridgefarm, Ill., preached the funeral sermon. Mrs. H. L. Dysart and Mrs. Sam Pond of Granville sang several songs. The casket was covered with beautiful flowers, gifts of friends. Much sympathy is extended to Miss Cora."
