Jo Knight James June 27, 1919- December 27, 2005 LANETT, AL
Mrs. Jo Knight James of Lanett, AL died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at her residence. A private graveside memorial service will be held in Parkhill Cemetery in Columbus, Georgia at a later date. Mrs. James was a retired Registered Nurse having worked at Doctors Hospital in Columbus, GA. She also worked as an RN in Dover, Delaware & Fayetteville, N.C. She was the first female to volunteer as a nurse for military service from Chambers County during WW2. Survivors include a sister in law, Irene Knight and family; a niece, Sue Brown and family; nieces and nephews from Henry Lucas family; niece from Donnie Sorrell and family; niece from John Knight family; niece from Ed Knight family. Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas Virgil Knight & Susie Ellen Looser Knight. Jeff Jones Funeral Home in Lafayette, AL. in charge of arrangements.
