William "Bill" Shirrell, 71 of Zalma, died Sept. 12, 2002 at his home. He was born Aug. 21, 1931 at Zalma, son of Phynnie and Dovie Hedrick Shirrell.
He and Carolyn Thurston were married Jan. 28, 1955 at Hernando, MS.
He was a retired sawmill worker.
He was also a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Army.
Survivors include one son, Billy Shirrell of Zalma, MO; one daughter, Lorita Ann Goolsby of Zalma, MO; two sisters, Judy Powell of High Ridge, MO; and Lita Thornburg of Silva, MO; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers and five sisters.
The funeral will be today at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, MO, with the Rev. Bill Sargent officiating. Burial will be in Berrong Cemetery near Gipsy, MO.
