WORLD WAR I VETERAN

Oscar Ferdinand Hedman was the son of John and Karen (Engstrom) Hedman. Both of his parents were born in Helsinghland, Sweden. Oscar was born July 6, 1889 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was five foot eight inches tall and had a medium complexion.

MILITARY RECORD:
Enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 13, 1918 in Spokane, Washington. Assigned to the Signal Corps. He was discharged in 1918. Pension awarded on Certificate No. 5203360.

He married Sylvia M. on February 6, 1915. The couple were residents of Spokane.

He died at the Veterans' Home on December 18, 1951 at the age of 62 years. He is buried in the Home Cemetery.
