Houston Chronicle, June 8, 2009:

James Oscar Reese, beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away quietly in his sleep on the morning of June 6, 2009. He was born in Farrar, Limestone County, Texas on December 20, 1929. James received his degree in Education from SHSU in 1950 and his masters degree from U of H in 1954. After marrying the love of his life, Bobbie Glen Farris, on April 8, 1950, he started his lifelong career of teaching in Spurger, Texas. After 36 years of dedicated service he retired from the Fort Bend Independent School District where he helped thousands of students as both a teacher and administrator. After retirement, he pursued his passions of listening to country music concerts, traveling and visiting with family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Nettie (Lindley) Reese.

He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Reese of Stafford; sister, Donette Hall and husband, Jon, of Bryan; sons, Jimmy Reese and wife, Paula, of Cypress, Tommy Reese and wife, Chelsea, of Houston; daughter, Cheryl Reese Koteras of Stafford; grandchildren, James Raymond Koteras of Stafford, Alison Koteras of Stafford, Amanda Brenner of Spring, Colleen Wade of Cypress; great-grandchildren, Emma Koteras of Stafford and Ethan Brenner of Spring; along with numerous other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Monday, June 8, 2009, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in the Chapel of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
