Hostetler moved from Peru to LaGrange in 1918. He was LaGrange County Sheriff from 1943 to 1947 and was a furniture salesman and auto dealer in LaGrange.
--In LaGrange, he was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the American Legion Post 215, the LaGrange Area Coin Club, the Early American Coppers, and the county historical society. He was a World War I Army Veteran, served as state commander of World War I Veterans and was a county Republican chairman.
--Mr. Hostetler is survived by one daughter, Norine Francis, Elkhart; one son, Wayne W. Hostetler, LaGrange; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
--Funeral services will be held Monday, Feb. 21, at 11 a.m. at the Frurip-May Funeral Home, LaGrange. The Revs. Tony Hardcastle and Lowell Anderson will officiate. Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery, LaGrange, with military graveside services conducted by the LaGrange American Legion Post 215.
--Friends may call Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the LaGrange First United Methodist Church or the LaGrange County Cancer Society.
