Mary, the ninth child of Francis & Bessie, was a graduate of Radford College. She was a head dietician at Brwyn Mawr Hospital in Philadelphia, Pa. for many years where she developed a love of baseball and was a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. She later moved to Richmond, Va. to be close to her twin sisters and worked at St. Mary's Hospital before retiring. She loved spending time at the family home in Ruffin and being in charge of the kitchen at family gatherings. She and Fred never had children.

Aunt Mary for some reason did not like her birth name of Mary Nunnally Alcorn and wanted to be known as Mary Ann Nunn Alcorn.
