Ernestine was born 1844 to Charles Marth and Caroline Waldoer in Zimotzel (near Kolberg, Providence of Pommem) Prussia. She came to America with her family in 1859. She married Heinrich (Henry) Grob on Nov. 8, 1867 in Cedarburg, Wisconsin. They had six children: Louise..John..Leo..Ella..Alexander..Paul

The Embassy of Switzerland assisted us in translating the inscription on the tombstone.
"Down here we creep through life, sighing and yearning
Up there we float in vigor and in glory
On earth my seeds are sown
In heaven I will come alive
Here my earthly shell withers away
There my spirit will live on forever"
