Edward Thomas "E.T." Young was born December 17, 1846 in London, England, and died February 11, 1933 in Olympia, WA at age 86. He was a founding father of Olympia, building the first hotel and water/power supply. He was also Fire chief, proprietor, owner of Young's Hotel, and the mayor. An antique platform rocker belonging to E.T. and Josephine Dofflemyer Young, his wife, was donated in 2007 to the Washington Historical Museum. The Dofflemyer family used to own the lighthouse at Dofflemyer point, now called Johnson's Point in Olympia. E.T. and Josephine were married on March 5, 1876 and had the following children (linked below--everyone except Edith Vivian are at Oddfellows).
