James D. and E. A. Floyd to Canaan Church

The State of Alabama

Chambers County

Know all men by these presents that in consideration of the sum of ten dollars to us in hand paid by the Canaan Church the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged we do grant, bargain, sell and convey to the said church (Canaan) the following tract or parcel of land to wit: Two acres nearly in the north west corner of Section Eleven (11) bounded on the north by the public road leading from Hickory Flat to Bethel Church, on the west by the section line, south and east by the land of James D. Floyd, running one acre on the public road and two acres on the west section line, the said lands being a part of the north west quarter of the north west quarter of section eleven (11) township twenty-four (24) Range twenty-seven (27) to have and to hold the aforesaid granted premises to the said Canaan Church forever in fee simple and we do warrant and will defend the titles to the same against ourselves and all other persons lawfully claiming. In witness whereof we hereunto set our hands this the 24th day of February 1879.
