Shirley Ann Queen Clark ,71, of Springfield, Missouri went to join her Lord on May 3, 2009.

Shirley was a longtime resident of Springfield having graduated from Central High School in 1955. She also graduated from BBC in 1961.

In her younger years she was a Sunday School teacher at High Street Baptist Church for over two decades. She later attended Baptist Temple where she was also employed as a bookkeeper. After that she worked at the Missions Office for several years.

She was united in marriage with Richard Clark on May 27, 1988. They spent the beginning of their marriage as missionaries in England and then retired to the United States.

She was preceded in death by her father, Clarence (Rusty) Queen and her mother, Aileen Ellingsworth Queen, and a step-daughter, Marci Ann Clark.

She is survived by her husband Richard Clark. She is also survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Johnna and Steve Smith of Keller, Texas; her step-daughter and husband, Bill and Jeanne Gondy of Glenmoore, PA; and a total of nine grandchildren. Shirley is also survived by her siblings and their spouses; her sister and brother-in-law, Jan and Kenn Simons of Ozark, MO; her brother and sister-in-law, John and Janice Queen of Springfield, MO; and her sister and brother-in-law, Debbie and Mark Bentley of Lake of the Ozarks; and an array of cousins, a niece, nephews and a host of friends who loved her dearly.

Visitation will be held in Gorman-Scharpf Funeral Home from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday May, 6, 2009. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday in Missouri Veterans Cemetery.

We wish to extend our thanks to Maranatha for treating our loved one with dignity and grace in her final days. We also wish to thank Seasons and Southside Baptist Church for their support during this difficult time.
