He was a CPA partner at S. Preston Douglas & Associates from 1961 to 1989. He was a director of the NC Association of CPA's. Mr. Lineberry served as a staff sergeant in the Army/Air Force during World War II, where he earned the Distinguished Flying Cross, an Air Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was also active at First Baptist Church where he served on the finance committee and the board of deacons.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce C. Lineberry of the home; a son, Joe L. (and wife Beth) Lineberry of Winston-Salem, Forsyth County; a brother, Marvin Lineberry of Liberty; two sisters, Lucy Mae Lineberry of Greensboro and Earlene McMaster of Ramseur; and three grandsons, Steve, Brent and David Lineberry.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Leroy Burke officiating. The burial services will be at Staley Baptist Cemetery in Staley.
