SERV: A Civil War veteran, he was drafted in Adams County October 16, 1862, and mustered into federal service at Gettysburg November 6 as a private with Co. G, 165th Pennsylvania Infantry (aka "Drafted Militia"). He claimed that while on the march home near the end of the regiment's term of service he contracted a disease to the head that caused inflammation of the eyes and that he "had to be led." He honorably discharged with his company July 28, 1863, in Gettysburg. His name is spelled Benjamin Klausser, Glouser and Clouser on the rolls.
