Cecil C. Uzzel was with E Battery of the 200th Coast Artillery (AA) in the Philippines when it fell to the Japanese during WWII. He was a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He re-enlisted in the Army following his release from a prisoner of war camp in Niigata, Japan. He eventually obtaining the rank of Warrant Officer. While stationed in Germany, he helped start an English-speaking Baptist Church. Reverend Cecil, died in Clute, Texas January 3, 2008.
