He was born on November 19, 1936 in Danbury, CT to John J. Toth and Anna Toth.
He married Beverly J. Gore Toth on July 31.
John graduated from Danbury High School, Danbury, CT in 1954 after which he immediately entered the service in the USMC, he had 22 years of service with the Marines (Cuban Missile Crisis 1962, two tours in Vietnam, (Da Nang 1965 and Khe Sanh 1968) with stations in Cherry Point NC, Yuma AZ, Camp Laejeune NC, MCAS El Toro, Twenty-Nine Palms, Kaneohe HI and New River NC). After retiring in 1976 he relocated to Trenton, MI, where he worked in Security for 20 years, he was also involved in the Boy Scouts in Rockwood, MI for 18 years.
Relocating to Salt Lake City, Utah, he was an avid NASCAR Fan and liked to attend Air shows, he enjoyed the outdoors, especially the West. He had a great love for his family and adored his grandsons (Nathan and Jacob). He also enjoyed cooking.
John is survived by his wife, Beverly Toth, son, Robert Toth (Kirsten Stoesser), grandsons, Nathan and Jacob Toth, Salt Lake City. Sisters, Mary Greene, Torrington, CT; Patricia Rockwell, Myrtle Beach, SC; and brother, Francis Toth, New Fairfield, CT.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Garner Funeral Home, 1001 East 11th Avenue. Family and Friends may call on Wednesday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at Garner Funeral Home and one hour prior to the services on Thursday.
Interment at Utah Veteran's Memorial Park, 17111 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah.
