Charles D. Blaine of Modesto was the Great Sachem (chief) of the Improved Order of Redmen of California from 1929 to 1930. The Order of Redmen was based on white men dressing as Indians at the Boston Tea Party. The order was reorganized ca. 1830 and grew to prominence in the 1930s. As of 2018, there are about 15,000 members across the USA.
