LeRoy Bevan
CHESHIRE — A graveside service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Junction City for LeRoy "Jack" Bevan of Cheshire, who died June 22 of age-related causes. He was 87.
He was born June 25, 1921, in Weir City, Kan., to Jess and Rosa Brackney Bevan. He married June Mae Stephenson on Oct. 19, 1940, in Wichita, Kan.
Bevan served in the Navy during World War II, from 1944 to 1946. He worked as an insulator for Skelly Oil Refinery.
Survivors include a son, Jack of Mesquite, Nev.; two daughters, Judith Lewis of Olympia and Eileen Simmons of Cheshire; six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. His wife died Sept. 13, 2007.
