CAVE CITY — J.W. "Jay" Cowan, 87, of Cave City died Monday, June 22, 2009.
He was born Aug. 21, 1921, at Smithville to John William and Nancy Ellen Stalmaker Cowan and was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Glindeen Simpson Cowan of the home; and sister, Noma Hoggard of Batesville.
He was preceded in death by four sisters, one half sister and two half brothers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Qualls Cave City Funeral Home with burial in Smithville Cemetery.
