ABRAHAM GULLETT, PIONEER IOWA CO. RESIDENT, IS DEAD

MARENGO. Ia., Aug. 1. (Special) Abraham Gullett, 78, a resident of Iowa county for 68 years, died at his home about 12pm Tuesday.

Born Jan. 31, 1851 in Indiana, Mr. Gullett with his parents moved to Iowa county, when only ten years old. In 1876 he married Miss Clara Jones in Marengo. They moved to a farm near Homestead where they lived for four years; thence to Marengo where they lived the remainder of his life. He was a man respected by all who knew him.

Those who survive are: Mrs. Gullett, his wife, and two daughters, Mrs. W. E. Campbell of Bedford, la., and Mrs. C. W. Hite, of Vinton, and seven grandchildren.

The Rev. C. R. Zimmerman conducted the funeral service from the Gullett home at 2:30pm today. Burial will be In the IOOF cemetery in Marengo.

Out-of-town relatives at the funeral were: Mr. and Mrs. LaVerne Campbell and little son of Des Moines, Theodore Jones of Williamsburg, Harold Campbell, Mr. and Mrs. David Jones, Miss Agnes Cownie and William Cownie of Des Moines. The Daily Times (Davenport, IA), 01 AUG 1929, Thu, Page 13, Column 3.
