Evan M. Bresina, 17, of 320 1st Ave., Chippewa Falls, died Saturday, June 20, 2009, in the town of Sampson, Chippewa County, as the result of a house fire.
He was born May 3, 1992, in Eau Claire to Melissa (Steinmetz) and Terry Bresina. He was raised in Chippewa Falls, and attended Parkview Grade School, Chippewa Falls Middle School and just completed his junior year at Chippewa Falls High School. Evan was a member of the Chi-Hi marching band and was about to begin his third year in the Chi-Hi Harmonics as a singer and dancer, where his smile lit up the stage. He had a dream of going to California some day. He enjoyed playing soccer for five years for the Chippewa Strikers and one year for the Chi-Hi Soccer team. He worked at his parents' restaurant and his customers loved having him as a waiter. He had a shy over-whelming smile that lit up the dining room. For the past year, he also worked at Mason Shoe in the call center.
Evan was a baptized and confirmed member of Our Hope Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his parents, Bud and Missy Bresina; a brother, Aaron Bresina; paternal grandparents, Art and Rita Bresina of Chippewa Falls; maternal grandparents, Amy and Darlene Steinmetz of Bloomer; several special aunts, uncles and cousins. Evan is also survived by so many friends who were very special to him.
He was preceded in death by his cousins, Artie Bresina and Ericka Kurz.
A funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, at Our Hope Lutheran Church, 240 Chapman Road, Chippewa Falls, with the Rev. Philip Pitt officiating. Interment will be in Forest Hill Cemetery in Chippewa Falls.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls, and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at the church.
Evan will be dearly missed for his big heart that made him such a great friend and "baby sitter." He was the best son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin and friend that a family could ever hope for.
Pederson-Volker Funeral Chapel, Chippewa Falls is serving the family.
