Chester L. McCammon, 38, resident of Cashmere for the past 23 years, passed away Sunday in a Seattle Hospital following a brief illness.

He was born Aug. 12, 1921 at Oilton, Oklahoma and he grew up and attended school there, marrying Leona Potts Oct. 19, 1940 at Drumright, Oklahoma and living in Kansas before moving to Cashmere in 1957.

He was employed by Schmitten Lumber Co. for 10 years and for the past 4 years was mechanic for the City of Cashmere.

Surviving are his wife Leona, son, Chester Jr., Redmond, daughter, Cindy Vacchio of Inwood, N.Y., three grandchildren, brother, Louis, Tonasket and sister, Mildred Weaver of Webb City, Oklahoma.

Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Braun Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Ackler officiating. Earl Barnes was organist. Burial took place in the Cashmere Cemetery with pallbearers Dave Simmer, Gordon Geyer, Leroy Morrow, Grover Harrington, Droman Housden and Chester McCammon Jr..
