LaCrosse -- Edward F. Sauer, 64, died Sunday, April 8, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, LaCrosse. He was born May 13, 1925 in Antonio to Fidelis G. and Rosa (Wasinger) Sauer.

He married Mildred L. Dempewolf, Feb. 14, 1949 in Blackwell, Okla.

He was a lifetime resident of the area and co-owner of Saka Dental Lab., Great Bend. He was a graduate of LaCrosse High School and received his laboratory training at Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church, and was a life member and past commander of VFW Post No. 3147, both of LaCrosse, and was a member of the National Dental Laboratories.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; three sons, James, Wichita, Joseph, Lakewood, Colo., and Michael, Denver; five daughters, Cheryl Conrad, Timken, Gloria Morgan, Alexander, Marie Herrman, Yukon, Okla, DeAnn Mahoney, Geary, Okla., and Suzanne Sauer, LaCrosse; a brother, Fred, Wichita; nine sisters, Anna Dreher and Pauline Unrein, both of Great Bend, Sister Ann Sauer, Salina, Germaine Barker, Arcata, Calif., Jean Barlet, Shellknob, Mo., Sara Depperschmidt, Pueblo, Colo., Eleanor Crowell, Cheyenne Wells, Colo., Florina Geissler, Springfield, Ore., and Philomena Sims, Wichita.

He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Michael Catholic Church, LaCrosse, with Father Eugene Kenny officiating; burial in LaCrosse City Cemetery, with military graveside rites by Fort Hays VFW Post No. 9076. A rosary is scheduled until 9 tonight at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to the church.
