Sarah (went by "Sallie") Ann Maria Blum was the eldest of five known children of John Nathaniel Blum (1811-1874) and Catherina M. Nading (1809-1885), who married c1834 in presumably North Carolina.

Sallie married the Reverend Robert Parmenio Leinbach (1831-1892) on 03 Oct 1865 at Forsyth County, North Carolina. Sallie and Robert were the parents of six known children, namely:

1. Catherine Elizabeth Leinbach (1867-1946)
2. Robert Blum Leinbach (1868-1872)
3. Emma Sophia Leinbach (1869-1871)
4. Anna Louise Leinbach (1873-1873)
5. Adelaide E.ugenia Leinbach Holland (1874-1966)
6. Cornelia Lavinia Leinbach (1877-1959)
