Word has been received of the death of Eugene J. (Pood) Garcia, 62, Carson, Calif., a former Galena resident, who died at 2:35 Saturday, Oct. 21, [1978] at South Bay Hospital at Redondo Beach, Calif., after six months of ill health.
Mr.Garcia was born Sept. 2, 1916, at Galena, and lived here until moving 10 years ago. He was employed by Union-Carbide at the Torrence Plant in Carson.
He married Lily Wood [Martin] Crum on Nov. 16, 1962, at St. Louis, Mo. She survives.
Also surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Loma Jackson, Kansas City, Mo., Mrs. Catherine Canter, St. Louis, Mrs. Evamay Hussong and Helen McCumber, both of Galena, and Mrs. Carolyn Crum, Carson, Calif.; 10 grandchildren.
Services and burial were held in California.
