Shares stone with Quallie W. Banfield.

Her father was B(enjamin) E. Hagerman and her mother was O. Sarah Coffman according to her death certificate and the 1900 census.

Her husband was listed as deceased.
She may have had more than one husband.

She was buried on 14 Jan 1959 in Payne Cemetery in Green County, MO.

The information above was taken from her death certificate.

In the 1930 census, she was listed as a widow and living with her children Howard (21) and Virginia (20).

In the 1918 Death Certificate of her daughter Effie (1907-1918) the father of Effie and husband of the mother Effie was Jim DeWitt.

Note: As of 5/29/2010 her grave was not found in the Payne cemetery in Green Co. but thanks to Mr. Hampton, we have found her in this Payne cemetery.

I have also found a Miss Effie Hagerman who married ? W Banfield in Republic,
Green Co, MO on 11 Apr 1901.

On 7 Jan 1906, James M Dewitt (1857-Aft 1910) married Effie Banfield in Christian Co, MO.

Based upon the 1900 and 1910 censuses, it appears that James was previously married to Louise Ida Hall and had at least 4 children by that marriage (Clelland) Elley E (19), Clyde G(eorge) (15), Cety C(atherine) (11), Opel M (8). The children Jessie (3) and James H (2 3/12) were probably children of Effie who was only 30 in 1910. He was also married to Mary Bell Hall (1866-1886) and they had one child Gertie (1886-1951).

James M DeWitt apparently was the son of George Washington DeWitt (1800-1864) and Malinda Stow (1833-?), (which means I am not related).
