Jim S. Lane
March 9, 1870 – December 6, 1928
Mr. J. S. Lane, for many years a citizen of Bay City, died at his home on North Avenue F Thursday morning, and was laid to rest in Cedarvale Cemetery this afternoon at 4 o'clock.
At the time of his death, which followed nearly two years of continued illness, Mr. Lane was 58 years, 9 months and 28 days of age. He was born in Gonzales County and reared in Luling and Lockhart. Most of his young business life was spent at Harwood. He moved his family to Bay City more than 20 years ago.
Surviving are his widow, daughter Mrs. George Beaks of Houston, and Mr. J. B. Lane of this city.
The funeral this afternoon was attended by many friends, and the floral offerings were beautiful.
The Tribune extends its sympathy to the bereaved family.
