Appleton (WI) Post Crescent, May 28, 2005, Page B-4 Col. 1: "Arlin R. Elandt, 79, Waupaca, went to his heavenly father Thursday, May 26, 2005, at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his children. He was born on January 1, 1926, on the farm in Weyauwega, the son of the late Herman and Hattie (Warmbier) Elandt. On May 19, 1956, he married Shirley A. Grosskopf; she preceded him in death on January 7, 1983. Arlin was a dairy farmer but his passion was being in the woods cutting wood. Arlin enjoyed making maple syrup with his family and calling all of his kids at 5 a.m. He also loaded bricks for Daryl Scheider. He served in the US Army during theKorean War.

"He as a member of First Lutheran Church, Ogdensburg.

"He is survived by..... He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Shirley; sister, Lorena Spiegelberg; two brothers, Alfred and Reuben Elandt and two brothers-in-law: Harold Backer and Gordon Loss.

"A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2005 at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Weyauwega, with Reverand Eugene Gauerke officiating. Interment will be in Baldwins Mill Cemetery, Town of Royalton, Waupaca County. A visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. A memorial has been established."
