She moved with her parents to Missouri. In 1871 she came to Washington Territory, as it was then called. For three years she lived in the Puyallup valley, near the present town of Sumner. Then she settled on a homestead near Bucoda, where she lived with her parents until their death. In 1892 she was married to Mr. R. W. Waddle and continued her residence on the old Sumner place . She had an adopted brother, M. A. Johnson, of Centralia.

Mrs. Abbie H. Waddle died at the Centralia General Hospital May 27, 1909. She was the youngest daughter of Thomas and Sara Sumner and was born in 1843 in Marian County, Indiana. She moved with her parents to Iowa in 1852, and in 1871 came to Washington Territory, as it was then. For three years she lived in the Puyallup valley, near the present town of Sumner. Then she settled on a homestead near Bucoda, where she lived with her parents until their death. In 1892 she was married to Mr. R. W. Waddle and continued her residence on the old Sumner place until about two years ago, when she and her husband came to Centralia, where she has since resided. Besides her husband, she leaves a sister, Mrs. Ezra Meeker, of Seattle, an adopted brother, M. A. Johnson, of this city and other relatives and many friends to mourn her loss.
