BENHARDT E. `BARNEY' DORMAIER

WENATCHEE - Benhardt E. "Barney" Dormaier, 98, of Wenatchee and a former longtime Cashmere area orchardist, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 1995, in Central Washington Hospital.

He was born May 28, 1896, to Phillip and Catherine (Bickel) Dormaier at Minot, N.D. In the early 1900s the family moved to Quincy where he received his early education.

He married Regine Schorzman on June 10, 1917, at Quincy. They moved to Dryden in 1920 and operated a fruit orchard, Mr. Dormaier's lifetime occupation. They later moved to Cashmere. Mr. Dormaier retired in 1962 and they moved to Wenatchee. Mr. Dormaier had been a resident of the Colonial Vista Apartments for the past three years.

He was a member of the Wenatchee First Presbyterian Church and a former member of the Cashmere Sportsman Club and the Cashmere Grange No. 380.

He is survived by a son, Alfred of Monitor; a daughter, Adeline Kelso of Bremerton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, a son and 15 brothers and sisters.
