BURDETT — Shirley A. Jennings, 72, died June 11 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend. She was born Jan. 16, 1937, at Great Bend, the daughter of Issac E. and Bertha Williams Miller. On May 8, 1956, she married Leon Jennings at her sister's home in rural Burdett. He survives. A longtime resident of Burdett, she was a homemaker.
Mrs. Jennings attended the United Methodist Church and was active in United Methodist Women, both of Burdett. She also served on the Pawnee County Election Board and was very active in several community events in Burdett.
Survivors, in addition to her husband, include one son, Craig and wife Linda of Abilene; two daughters, Dana McCreath and husband Alex of Maize and Debra McLaren and husband Sean of Hays; one brother, Gene Miller of Burdett; one sister, Cleo Dick of Burdett; and eight grandchildren, Anthony Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Nicholas Johnson, Felicia Johnson, Randi Jennings, Peter Jennings, Devon McCreath and Mason McCreath. She was preceded in death by one brother, Chet Miller, and one sister, Golda Miller.
Funeral Service will be at 10 a.m. on Monday at Morell Funeral Home, Larned, with Pastor Rich Zimmerman presiding. Burial will be in the Larned Cemetery. Friends may visit from noon until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home, with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
