Funeral services for Mr. James Wiley Gandy, age 82, of Many, were held Saturday, Jan. 1, 1983, at 2 p.m., at St. John Catholic Church in Many. Father Gustave Bergeron officiated. Burial followed in the St. John Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home of Many.
He died at 10:45 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 30, 1982, at Fraser Hospital South, after a short illness.
Mr. Gandy, born and raised in Athens TX on Nov. 16, 1900, resided in the Kilgore, Texas area for many years. In 1951, he moved to Many.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Irene Andries Gandy of Many; two sons, Patrick Gandy of Shreveport, and Jim Bob Gandy of Many; two daughters, Cecelia G. Hambleton of Shreveport, and Carol G. Key of Many; one brother, Harry Gandy of Athens TX and one sister, Mary Lewis of Athens TX.
