THOMAS JEFFRIES
Thomas Jeffries, son of James N. and Etha Jeffries, was born July 31, 1886, on a farm near Confidence, Iowa, and died at Russell, Iowa, on October 26, 1949, at the age of 63 years, two months and 26 days.
He was one of a family of six children, four brothers and one sister.
He was married to Maude Lillian Marsh on November 11, 1908, and to this union six children were born; Hoy, of near Millerton; Verle, of Russell; Jack, of Chariton; Mrs. Maxine Brown, of Chariton; Mrs. Betty Fitzhugh, of San Francisco, Calif.; and Mrs. Phyllis Dunshee, of Oskaloosa.
After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Jeffries made their home on a farm near Russell, where he was an active farmer and stockman for many years.
His father and mother, two brothers and the sister have preceded him in death.
Besides his wife and six children, he is survived by two brothers, Ed, of Confidence, Iowa and Homer of Corvallis, Oregon; three sons-in-law, three daughters-in-law, ten grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held from the Woodman Funeral Home in Russell, Friday, October 28, at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Grace Anderson officiating.
