This contributor (Pam R.) met Jennie Welch about 1957 when I was 10 years old as I and my grandparents stopped at Jennie Welch's Antique Shop in Welches, Oregon. My grandparents let me pick out a candy dish in her shop and I was fascinated by all the lovely antiques she had as they were not only for sale in her antiques shop but throughout her home as well. Thereafter I had a life-long love of antiques. I and my sister stopped at Jennie Welch's Antique Shop circa 1984 when Jennie was about 94 years old. Jennie had antiques in every room in her shop/home and opened drawers in her bedroom to show me what she had for sale. She had her hair up in a bandana and was sitting at an antique typewriter typing away. She was a colorful character.
