Lt. George Henry Sturdevant, born 8/16/1840 Ohio, d. 1/28/1905 WA, son of James Edgar and Lucretia (Ranney) Sturdevant, served in the 10th Illinois Cavalry from 1/29/1862 to
11/22/1865. Husband of (1)Clarinda Harroun, (2) Viola Vesta Humiston, and (3) Maria
Louisa Price. Maria Louisa Price first married Perry Gray in 1870, Lt. Sturdevant in
1875, and following his death, remarried to the Rev. Ebenezer Hopkins.

George H. Sturdevant, a veteran of the Civil war, died at Tutnwater, about noon, last Saturday. He was a member of George H. Thomas Post, G. A. R. Deceased was born in Franklin county, Ohio, in August, 1840; moved to Illinois in 1858, where, at the age of 21, he was married. He leaves a widow and eight children, all but one of whom are grown. The funeral rites took place Monday, under direction of the Post, assisted by the Women's Relief Corps, Rev. A. G. Sawin officiating.
