Funeral for L.D. Austin, 75, of Trinity will be Sunday, July 30, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Parkway Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Steve Agee and Bro. Arnold Brackin officiating.
Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.

Mr. Austin, who died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at his home, was born March 5, 1931, in Oneonta to Ambrose Austin and Lily Mae Mitchell Austin. He was an active member of Faith Baptist Church for 35 years. He attended the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind where he received a certificate for horticulture and owned and operated Austin's Greenhouse for 10 years. He will be tremendously missed by numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family. Mr. Austin was preceded in death by his wife of 46 plus years, Dora June Hitt Austin; his parents; two sisters, Marie A. Black and Rose Marie Austin; and one brother, Ervin Austin.

He is survived by his wife of four years, Annie Armour Austin; two daughters, Dianne Austin Terrell and Deanna Austin Arnold and her husband, Terry; two stepdaughters, Sharon Sherrill and her husband, Mike, and Joyce Holland and her husband, Wayne; two sons, Larry Austin and Barry Austin; one stepson, Sandy Armour and his wife, Katie; nine grandchildren; 10 stepgrandchildren; 13 and a half great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; two stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and three brothers, James Austin of California, John Austin of Arizona and Edwin Austin of Gadsden.

Pallbearers will be Kenny Flake, Gary Flake, David Austin, Luke Osteen, Melvin Tucker, Dennis Posey, Anthony Hill, A.M. Stevens and Johnny Fulks.
