RUSSELL — Don Eugene Barton, 80, Russell, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2000, at Hays Medical Center. Mr. Barton was born Aug. 30, 1919, at Pretty Prairie. He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II and a mechanic for Skelly Oil Co., retiring in 1973. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion, all of Russell. Survivors include his wife, Eunice of Russell; a son, Alan of Russell; a daughter, Margie Deem of Meade; two brothers, Rodney of Long Beach, Calif., and Jerry of Dorrance; a sister, Norma Poulter of Garber, Okla.; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John Lutheran Church, the Revs. Henry Hartman and James Strasen officiating. Burial will be in Russell City Cemetery.
