Mr. Fischer a native of Protection and a life long area resident, was the foreman of a state highway crew for many years and also ran a farm near here until his retirement several years ago. He was a deacon of the First Baptist Church here, a member of Arcade Lodge 419 F&AM, a high priest in the Royal Arch Masons, and a member of the Batavia Commandry and the Ismalia Temple, Buffalo.
He is survived by his wife, the former Gertrude Day; one daughter, Mrs. Charles Drake, here; two brothers, George, East Aurora and John, Holland, and two grandchildren.
Masonic services will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the W. S. Davis Funeral Home, 358 Main St. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church here. Burial will be in Vermont Hill Cemetery, Protection.
